The questions surrounding Gunner Stockton's readiness to take over Georgia's offense during the 2025 season continue to roll in. Stockton has many doubters questioning if he will be good enough to lead this Georgia football team, and one of the loudest individuals who is questioning Stockton is former Georgia legend David Pollack.

"I'm 100% sure if you're not going to give him a running game, it's going to be a tough season for the Georgia offense," Pollack shared via ugawire.usatoday.com.

Pollack thinks Georgia can't win without a run game

Everyone knows that a quarterback's life is much more difficult when they don't have an effective run game. Some QBs however are able to rise to the occasion and still lead their team to victory even if the run game is struggling. Pollack however doesn't think Stockton is good enough to put Georgia on his back and make the big plays with his arm to win a game if the run game stalls out.

"Gunner Stockton cannot lead this team back to where they were a year ago if it's the same team," Pollack continued. "If they can't run the football, it's not going to happen. Like they've brought in a bunch of receivers. That's (2024) the worst rushing season Georgia's had in 20 years."

While there are serious concerns with Georgia's run game because of the lack of production from a season ago, Pollack isn't totally accurate in the above quote. Georgia did go out and get multiple receivers from the Transfer Portal this offseason, but they did add star running back Joch McCray from Illinois as well. The Bulldogs also have Nate Frazier as their starter who had a really impressive true freshman season in 2024 as well as Roderick Robinson who is looking like his former self after multiple injuries.

Time will tell if Georgia's offensive line improves or not, but if they can stay healthy this season (which didn't happen last year) then they likely will be better.

Stockton does have to prove himself as a passer this season before people will have more confidence in him, but he has the potential to be able to lead Georgia to victory whether the run game struggles or not.
