Georgia football has quite the College Football Playoff resume already. Their wins over Ole Miss and Tennessee stack up with any team’s best wins while their one loss to Alabama is about as good of a loss as anyone can have.
With the first edition of the CFP rankings set to be released in two weeks, now is the time for fans to start thinking about where their favorite team could end up. Georgia still has a chance to end up anywhere in the 12-team bracket, but David Pollack believes that UGA will earn the 5-seed.

David Pollack predicts Georgia’s fate in the College Football Playoff
According to Pollack, he believes Georgia will end up with the No. 5 overall seed in the College Football Playoff. This will put them in the first round of the playoffs where they will get to host a home game against 12-seed USF.
This is the draw of a lifetime for Georgia because being gifted the Group of Five representative gives Georgia a very easy victory. Unfortunately the Alabama Crimson Tide would be the team wiaiting for Georgia in the quarterfinals if they advance.
Georgia fans should obviously be intimated having to play Alabama since UGA never seems to beat the Tide, but this draw would actually work in their favor. Last year in the first edition of the 12-team playoff, every team who received a first round bye lost in the quarterfinals. This includes Georgia who fell to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl. So maybe the winning formula is to miss the first round bye, win a first round game, and make a run from there.
There are still six weeks femaining in the regular season as well as the conference championship week, so these predictions will change a lot before the final bracket is revealed in December. But seeing Georgia’s favorable draw in Pollack’s bracket is an easy way to get the juices flowing.
