Former Georgia Bulldog Daylen Everette was drafted in the third round by the Pittsburgh Steelers this past year. Expectations were high for him heading into the league, and so far he has lived up to all the hype.
Everette in fact has actually been one of the best rookie corners in the league this season as he has allowed the lowest passer rating in the NFL this season among all rookie corners.

Through seven games this season Everette has 15 tackles and one interception. Itās hard to judge a corner off their number of tackles though because if theyāre doing their job well the ball wonāt ever come near them, and his high coverage rating shows that heās done an amazing job so far this season.
Daylen Everette could get rich quick
Everette is still only in his rookie season in the NFL, so teams will need to see him play at a high level for longer before they get too excited. If he can keep playing at this high of a level for a few more years though then he could get a massive second contract.
Rookies in the NFL get paid well, but players make their most money in their second contract. At that point they are still young and could have a long future in front of them, so if they play well in their first few seasons in the league some teams will be willing to pay them a huge contract when their rookie contract is up.
That is the track that Everette is on right now, but so far heās only proven himself for half a season. If he can keep this up for the next 2.5 years though then teams will start to aggressively pursue him and offer him some large contracts.
Daylen Everette always had the āItā factor at Georgia
Everette was always a solid player at Georgia, but he always seemed to show up and play his best in the biggest games. Arguably his best game at Georgia came in the 2024 SEC Championship game against Texas when he won the MVP Award after snagging two interceptions. He then backed that up the following year in the 2025 SEC Championship game by grabbing another interception.
Everette had other big moments throughout his career, but he will always be remembered most for how well he played in the SEC title games he was a part of. Those performances are a big reason why he was drafted in the third round, and so far heās lived up to the hype in Pittsburgh.
It will be fun to see how his career develops over the next few years, but so far the start to his run in the NFL has been about as good as anyone couldāve hoped for.
