Georgia football’s offensive line entered Saturday’s game against Kentucky a little banged up. Earnest Greene was ruled out for the second game in a row, and a few other linemen were playing through some minor injuries as well.
Unfortunately the injury bug did not stay away during the first half as two offensive linemen went down with injuries against Kentucky.
Georgia’s offensive line suffers two first half injuries vs Kentucky
Georgia’s injury woes began with Monroe Freeling going down during the Bulldogs first drive of the game. UGA was still able to score to take a 7-0 lead, but losing Freeling was a big blow.
Freeling has not returned yet, and his official status announced during the second quarter was that he is “out for now.”

Left on the opening drive of the game and was replaced by Bo Hughley.
Fast forward to the second quarter and Micah Morris limped off the field with an injury as well.

Georgia offensive line in a bad spot.
The good news for Morris is that he did return later in the half and played big role in Georgia’s third touchdown drive of the game. UGA ran the ball behind him multiple times on that drive for solid gains, so it appears he is good to go going forward.
The health of both Freeling and Morris will be important to monitor going forward. Georgia already entered this game down a key contributor on the offensive line, so losing another significant piece long term would be tough to overcome.
For now it doesn’t seem like these injuries are hurting Georgia as they lead the Wildcats 21-7 at the half. But it goes without saying how impactful these injuries could be against some better competition later this season, so the hope is that they’ll both be okay and no more injuries are suffered during the second half.
