Disaster strikes Georgia’s RB room on UGA’s latest injury report

Georgia football’s running back room is in big trouble. That may sound like an overreaction, but one look at the Bulldogs’ latest injury report and it’s very easy to see why the running back room is in bad shape.

Four Georgia running backs in total found themselves listed on the Bulldogs’ first injury report of the week on Wednesday night. This includes Branson Robinson and Roderick Robinson who are both out once again, as well as two new names to the injury report.

Two new Georgia RB’s added to the injury report

The third Georgia running back listed on the injury report is Trevor Etienne. Etienne has been dealing with a rib injury that kept him out of the second half of the Florida game, and it appears that injury is still seriously impacting him.

Etienne is listed as questionable, so there is still a chance he will be good to go on Saturday. But during Georgia’s loss to Ole Miss, Etienne only had six carries, which shows his health really wasn’t that great last week either.

The fourth Georgia running back on the injury report is Cash Jones, who is also listed as questionable.

Jones may not be as big of a loss on paper as he’s only received eight carries this season for 15 yards. But with the state of the running back room in Athens, losing any running back at this point is bad news.

Georgia is going to have to rely heavily on Nate Frazier, which isn’t a problem because he has more than proven himself this season. The problem is that he’s the only healthy option at running back right now. Sure Etienne and Jones have a chance to play against Tennessee on Saturday, but they would both likely be somewhat limited by their injuries.

So a majority of the workload will fall on Frazier, which is scary on the off chance that he gets injured as well.

So expect Georgia to be pass heavy against the Vols on Saturday, simply because they don’t have many options at running back. Hopefully Carson Beck and the Georgia receivers are up to the challenge, because this is not going to be an easy win.
