Georgia and Florida are gearing up for their annual matchup in Jacksonville this Saturday. Georgia enters this matchup at 6-1 and the favorite while Florida has to deal with the off the field distraction of having their head coach fired two weeks ago.
While that is a massive distraction by itself, quarterback DJ Lagway went out of his way to scare Florida fans and make yet another distraction for the Gators to deal with leading into their matchup with Georgia.

DJ Lagway provides another distraction leading up to matchup vs Georgia
Lagway has a younger brother who is a cornerback in the 2028 recruiting class. Jamal Lagway's recruitment is yet to heat up since he is just a sophomore in high school, but on Monday he received his first power four scholarship offer from Texas A&M. To celebrate, Lagway took to social media to congratulate his brother on this accomplishment.
Anyone would celebrate their brother receiving a scholarship offer even if it is from a different SEC school, but Lagway's reaction in the above post has sent Florida fans spiraling. Texas A&M was the only other school Lagway thought about attending out of high school, so seeing him react with those emojis might make Florida worry that Lagway is thinking about transferring to the Aggies to play with his brother.
The Lagways are from Willis, TX which is very close to Texas A&M's campus. On top of that, Lagway's original decision to play for Florida had a lot to do with money, and the Aggies are known for being one of the biggest spenders in the NIL era. So they likely would be more than willing to pay for his services. Billy Napier being fired also doesn't help Florida's case because that is the time players are most likely to enter the Transfer Portal and move on to a new school.
Lagway won't be going anywhere during this season, but there is a chance he leaves Florida after this season. And if he does, Texas A&M feels like the most likely landing spot. So while Lagway will still be in Jacksonville to quarterback the Gators against Georgia this weekend, this social media post could work out in UGA's favor as it may serve as yet another distraction for Florida.
