Georgia football has entered their final bye week of the season after defeating Ole Miss 43-35 on Saturday. Next up for Georgia is a matchup with the Florida Gators, and in a rivalry as big as this it is really nice that Georgia will get an extra week to prepare for the Gators.
That extra week will really benefit Georgia in this matchup, but some breaking news just made Georgia's matchup with Florida a lot easier.

Florida just made Georgia's life easier by firing Billy Napier
According to multiple reports, the Florida Gators have just announced that they have fired head coach Billy Napier. This decision came after the Gators beat Mississippi State 23-21 on Saturday, but this win only moved Florida to 3-4 this season which is not good enough.
So far this season Florida has lost to USF, Miami (FL), LSU and Texas A&M. And with big matchups against Georgia, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Florida State looming, making a bowl game this season already looked impossible.
Florida will announce an interim head coach to take Napier's place for the rest of the season, but whoever that coach ends up being will not be able to compete with Kirby Smart. Unfortunately Georgia is the first team this new coach will have to face, so it is very likely that their tenure as interim head coach will get off to a rough start.
The opening spread for Georgia's matchup with Florida has not been released yet, but this news will increase the amount UGA would have been favored by a few points. But even though everyone will expect Georgia to beat Florida by a wide margin, the Bulldogs need to remain focused because weird things can sometimes happen after a coach is let go. Just look at UCLA who has rattled off a few wins after they fired their head coach a few weeks ago.
Kickoff beetween Georgia and Florida is scheduled for 3:30 pm EST on Saturday, Nov. 1.
