President Donald Trump had a lot of nice things to say about Gunner Stockton.

When Georgia fans woke up Thursday morning they did not expect to see Gunner Stockton hanging out with President Donald Trump. But in the afternoon a post went viral of Stockton shaking President Trump’s hand and welcoming him to Georgia on an airport runway.

This however wasn’t the only interaction between these two. President Trump did a short speech later in the day, and Stockton was standing near him throughout his speech. Then seemingly out of nowhere President Trump started speaking about Stockton and used four words to describe him.

President Trump said that Stockton was a “big star” and a “talented QB.”

President Donald Trump is a big fan of Gunner Stockton

These are probably the most basic comments President Trump could’ve made about Stockton. And if he was talking about any QB he probably would’ve described them with these same phrases as well, but Georgia fans know how accurate these statements are.

Stockton is coming off his first year as Georgia’s starter where he led UGA to a 12-2 record that consisted of winning an SEC Championship. And if you count the SEC title from two years ago where he replaced Carson Beck and led Georgia on a second half comeback, Stockton has two SEC titles under his belt.

Stockton does have a lot to prove still since he has an 0-2 record in the College Football Playoff, but it’s impossible to deny that he is a college football superstar right now. He is a frontrunner to win the Heisman Trophy and lead Georgia to a National Championship, and as long as that is the case then everything President Trump said is true.

Now the only question is if Stockton will become an ever bigger star, but as it stands everyone knows that he already is one and that includes President Trump.
