EA Sports did Gunner Stockton dirty in new college football video game

The latest edition of EA Sports' College Football video game is officially out. Georgia football fans are able to play with the Bulldogs just like they could with the last two editions, but star quarterback Gunner Stockton unfortunately is not in the game.

Stockton chose to opt out of the video game, and that means EA Sports isn't able to use his image and likeness in the game. They can however make a random player to take his place while still using his name, and the player they created is the most laughable thing they could've come up with.

Gunner Stockton can fix EA Sports' terrible decision

EA Sports most likely wasn't allowed to create a player that looks anything like Stockton. Did they have to create someone that looks like this though?

This player looks like someone you would see in your worst nightmares, and that is who Georgia fans will be using to quarterback their team in this new video game.

Stockton however can fix this mistake from EA Sports if he chooses to change his mind and opt in. It isn't 100 percent clear if he is able to after the fact, but Arch Manning chose to opt in after initially opting out two years ago so it seems like Stockton should be able to do the same.

There really isn't a good reason why Stockton would choose to not be in the video game. Maybe he just forgot to opt in on time, but after seeing the uproar from the fanbase hopefully he will change his mind and opt in so EA Sports can create a player that actually looks like him.

Why isn't Gunner Stockton in EA Sports' new video game?

The most likely scenario for why Stockton isn't in the video game is because he just forgot to opt in on time. EA Sports gave every player a specific amount of time to opt in, and if they didn't do it on time then they weren't going to be in the video game.

It does seem strange though that a player would just forget to opt in. It likely doesn't take long to opt in, and who wouldn't want to be in a video game? All of these college football players likely grew up playing the older editions of this video game or even Madden too, so why wouldn't they want to be able to play as themselves?

At the end of the day it really isn't that big of a deal that he isn't the game. Georgia fans would much rather see Stockton work hard this offseason and become a much a better in real life versus being able to play as him in a video game, but if it is super simple to opt in then why not just do it?

Stockton is a fan favorite and is someone that everyone would want to play with, so he should do right by his fans and opt in so they can play as him in the video game.
