Georgia football just had one of its biggest commitments in the last two weeks with 4-star IOL Ekene Ogboko choosing to spend his college career with the Bulldogs. However, there is something about Ogboko's commitment that should be noted.
Ogboko is not the first of his family to attend Georgia, as his brother Nnamdi Ogboko is already with the Bulldogs and is in his second year in the defensive lineman position. The other Ogboko came to Georgia as a three-star prospect and decided to redshirt his first season.
The younger Ogboko beat out his brother by one star on his rating, but Ekene is also the No. 50 prospect on the ESPN 300 for the Class of 2026 and the No. 3-ranked IOL in the nation according to 247Sports.
Ekene Ogboko totally faked out the crowd when announcing his commitment
Ogboko made his announcement of where he would continue his football career at his high School, South Garner, today, and he certainly made it a memorable one. Ogboko was at the table with his family around him and the hats of his top four choices in from of him: Georgia, Notre Dame, Clemson, and Florida.
The young offensive lineman picked up each hat, even the Georgia hat, and just as he was about to put it on his head, would throw it away, making the fans believe he was not choosing that school. So Ogboko even faked out the Georgia fanbase when he mentioned how his brother was with the Bulldogs and then threw the hat away.

After throwing all the hats away, it was a mystery as to who Ogboko was going to pick; had a dark horse made its way into the race? No, it was still only those four teams, and Ogboko then unzipped his jacket to show him wearing a Georgia Bulldogs shirt and announced that was where he would attend college.
It was a memorable announcement and certainly had some people confused, but don't worry, Georgia fans, the Ogboko family is staying in Athens.
