One of Georgia football’s top priority recruits in the 2026 recruiting class is running back Jae Lamar. Lamar is one of the top players in the country, coming in at No. 126 in his entire class according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He also is the No. 13 running back in his class as well as the No. 19 player from his home state of Georgia.
Lamar recently announced three official visits that he will take later this summer, and one of those visits will be to Georgia beginning May 30. He will also visit Auburn and Miami (FL) this summer as well.
There have not been any official predictions made in Lamar’s recruitment yet, but he has made it abundantly clear who his leader is. And that is Georgia as he shared the following quote with On3 recently when asked what Georgia needs to do to remain at the top of his recruitment.
"Keep doing what they're doing."

Jae Lamar is not shy about how much he loves Georgia
The above quote isn't the first time that Lamar made it clear that Georgia was his top school right now. A few weeks ago he came to Athens during Georgia's first Junior Day of the year, but it was something he said back in November that really stands out. During the middle of November, Lamar specifically stated that Georgia was his "number one" school. Now there really is no question who his top school is when he is being that upfront about UGA.
And to round out all of the great quotes from Lamar about Georgia, he recently shared the following with 247Sports.
"I mean, before I even hopped on the field, before anyone even knew my name, Coach Crawford stopped by my school, and he liked my size," Lamar shared via 247sports.com. "He actually recruited my oldest brother, so he just already knew the type of abilities I had, and he wanted me to put on a couple games film, and he was gonna offer me."
It's unclear at this time when Lamar plans to announce a commitment, but it is abundantly clear that Georgia is the team to beat and it would be very surprising if be does not end up in Georgia's recruiting class when it's all said and done.
