Georgia football is continuing to make some impressive moves on the recruiting trail recently. Unfortunately they are not earning any commitments, but not many recruits commit during the month of January anyways, so that isn't a big deal.
But Kirby Smart and his staff are doing an excellent job at putting themselves in position with many of the top recruits across the country. This is seen with Georgia setting up many visits with their top targets, attempting to flip some elite players already committed to other schools, and making the top lists for many of their targets as well.
And that is exactly what has happened with one of the top safeties in the country.

4-star safety Ayden Pouncey
Ayden Pouncey is a four-star safety from Winter Park, FL. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Pouncey is the No. 149 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 11 safety and No. 23 player from Florida.
Georgia received some great news from Pouncey on Thursday as they have officially made his top 10, according to Hayes Fawcett with On3. UCF, Syracuse, Florida State, Miami (FL), LSU, Notre Dame, Michigan, North Carolina and Florida also made the cut along with Georgia.
There is no clear cut leader in Pouncey's recruitment at this time as 247Sports does not have any favorites labeled on his recruiting profile nor has anyone made a crystal ball prediction either. On3 on the other hand does list Miami as the current favorite, but they only give the Hurricanes a 23.7 percent chance to win the recruitment right now. So even On3 has no clue who the true leader is right now.
That could be good news for Georgia as it gives them time to make their move and become one of the top contenders in Pouncey's recruitment. So look for Smart and his staff to stay in contact with Pouncey and hopefully bring him to Athens on a visit so they can cement themselves as true contenders in his recruitment.
