Georgia only has a few players committed to their 2027 recruiting class, but most of those players are extremely talented. That includes Donte Wright who is a corner that has been committed to Georgia since June.
Wright has always been a fringe five-star recruit, but on Wednesday he shot up the latest 247Sports rankings and officially earned his coveted fifth star.

Wright is the No. 10 overall ranked player in the 2027 class

Before this update Wright was the No. 34 player in the country. That obviously is extremely good, but it is just outside what typically earns recruits five-star status. That however changed this week when 247Sports moved him up 24 spots to No. 10 in the country.
Wright also is the No. 2 corner in the country now as well as the top ranked player from his home state of Caifornia.
All of this is clearly really good news, but there is only one problem. It is looking more and more like Georgia may not hold onto his commitment.
The last few months have been tough sledding for Kirby Smart as Wright has been allowing other schools to recruit him. In fact, some schools were making a lot of progress like Miami who got an official visit on the books. But no school has found more success than Oregon who just received an official prediction to flip Wright from Georgia.
Wright has since responded to that prediction saying he is still locked in with Georgia, but at this point it's getting hard to believe that he is going to stick with Georgia.
But for now the Bulldogs still have his commitment which gives them two five-stars in their 2027 recruiting class. That is an impressive feat considering Georgia only has five players committed to their recruiting class right now, but the most impressive feat would be actually keeping Wright in their recruiting class.
