ESPN has some exciting news to share as they have decided that they will be making a trip to Athens next weekend for the Bulldogs' game against Tennessee.
That's right, ESPN's College GameDay will be in attendance for Georgia football's showdown with Tennessee on Saturday, Nov. 16.
College GameDay heading to Athens
There really wasn't any other choice than this game for ESPN's featured weekly show. As it stands today, this is one of two ranked matchups throughout all of college football taking place next weekend. Not only is it a matchup between two ranked teams, but it is a massive game against two teams that will potentially be ranked inside the top 10.
Unfortunately Georgia lost to Ole Miss this weekend, so that takes some juice away from this game. But Georgia will likely still be inside the top 10 along with Tennessee.
This will be the third time Georgia will be featured on GameDay this season. GameDay was present for Georgia’s loss to Alabama earlier this season as well as their big win at No. 1 Texas a few weeks ago. But this is the first time GameDay will be in Athens this year.
Georgia hasn’t played a home game in general in over a month, so this is an awesome way for Georgia fans to celebrate finally getting to see their team play at Sanford Stadium once again. This game also has major SEC championship and College Football Playoff implications as well, so this game has about as much juice as possible.
Can Georgia defeat Tennessee with GameDay in town and move their record to 2-1 when the show is present this season? Only time will tell.
One thing’s for sure however, they’re going to have to play much better next weekend if they’re going to win.
