Georgia had a minor setback two weeks ago when they dropped their first game of the season to Auburn. Even after that defeat though they were still the favorite to win the SEC and are currently the No. 3 team in the country.
Georgia also were given great odds to win every game the rest of this season even after this loss. After beating Alabama the Bulldogs had over an 80 percent chance to win each individual game left on their schedule including their upcoming road game at Ole Miss. ESPN recently updated those odds though as now they only have a 66 percent chance to win, and it makes no sense for these odds to drop right after the Rebels lost to Texas.

Georgia's odds vs Ole Miss somehow got worse after their second loss
It makes sense that Georgia's odds to beat Ole Miss would decrease after they lost to Auburn. Ole Miss is a much better team than Auburn, so if UGA can lose to them they can absolutely lose to the Rebels.
It however makes no sense that Georgia's odds would get worse after last week though. Last week Georgia was on a bye, but Ole Miss went to Texas and lost their second game of the season. That isn't a bad loss by any means, but Texas isn't as strong as people expected this year because they've already lost twice to Florida and Oklahoma. So losing to that team is somewhat of a bad look.
Regardless of how good or bad Texas is it makes no sense for Ole Miss' odds against Georgia to improve when they lost last week and Georgia didn't even play. ESPN's odds somehow shifted in the Rebels' favor, but thankfully Georgia is still a decent favor over Ole Miss.
Revenge could carry Georgia against Ole Miss
Even if ESPN thinks Ole Miss has a better chance against Georgia it may not matter at the end of the day. No one can deny that Ole Miss is more than capable of beating Georgia, but UGA has a lot of revenge on their mind that could carry them in this game.
The obvious point of revenge is that Ole Miss knocked Georgia out of the playoff last season. Georgia felt like they were good enough to make a run in the playoff last season, but it was Ole Miss who ended their playoff run before it could even get started.
Georgia also lost to Ole Miss the last time they played in Oxford in 2024. In fact, Ole Miss kind of blew Georgia out because they pulled away late and won 28-10.
Georgia has lost two of their last three meetings against Ole Miss. Now that Georgia has beat Alabama two times in a row it's the Rebels who are the team UGA hasn't been able to get past recently, and that extra motivation could be what carries them to victory next weekend.
Kickoff between Georgia and Ole Miss is scheduled for 7:30 pm EST on Saturday, Nov. 7.
