All week long Georgia has been predicted to beat Auburn. The opening line favored the Bulldogs by 4.5 points, but after 24 hours that moved down one point to 3.5. That is where the spread sat all week until Saturday morning when the line shifted once again.

This time however it moved in Georgia’s favor as the Bulldogs are now favored by four points over Auburn.

Line shifts in favor of Georgia against Auburn at the last second

There is already a lot of pressure on Georgia heading into Saturday night’s rivalry matchup. The Bulldogs already have one loss this season, and all it takes is one more for their season to feel like it’s over.

To be fair, Georgia did win the SEC and make the College Football Playoff as the No. 2 overall seed last year with two losses, but that is never a guarantee to happen again. A second SEC loss would mean Georgia would need a lot of outside help just to make it to Atlanta, and who knows if that would happen two years in a row.

Georgia having a second loss this season also would put their hopes of making the CFP on the line. A 10-2 record in the SEC will always be good enough to make the playoff, but would Georgia be able to rattle off six straight wins if they lose to Auburn? That seems unlikely.

So it’s clear that there is already a lot of pressure on Georgia to beat Auburn on Saturday, and the last second movement in Vegas’s spread only adds more pressure. This means it would be an even bigger upset if Georgia were to lose to Auburn, and that’s the last thing anyone at Georgia wants to see against their hated rival.

Georgia and Auburn are scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 pm EST Saturday night on ABC.
