Georgia football has been working behind the scenes to flip the nation’s No. 1 running back from Penn State. Kemon Spell has been committed to the Nittany Lions since last year, but a new offer from Georgia has him second guessing where he should play college football.
So while Spell debates what school he wants to call home, a different Penn State commit just decided to ditch the Nittany Lions and reopen his recruitment. While this development doesn’t involve Spell directly, it could be the first domino to fall that could eventually lead to Spell decommitting from Penn State to flip to Georgia.

Penn State’s recruiting troubles could work in Georgia’s favor
Khalil Taylor is a four-star wide receiver who is the No. 56 player in the country according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Taylor was one of Penn State's top commits in their 2027 class, but he has chosen to decommit from the Nittany Lions and look elsewhere.
So what does this have to do with Georgia and their pursuit of Spell?
Spell currently is the higest ranked commit in Penn State's 2027 recruiting class. But his commitment is in jeopardy after Georgia offered him earlier this week. Just one day after Georgia offered Spell he immediately got a visit to Athens on the books to attend a game later this season.
So it already looks like Spell is very interested in Georgia, and seeing another top Penn State commit for leave the program could make him second guess the Nittany Lions even more. It also doesn't hurt that Penn State has lost two games in a row this season which includes an ugly loss to winless UCLA last week.
The biggest takeaway with Spell is that he will be visiting Georgia later this season. But it's impossible to not notice the struggles Penn State is having both on the field and on the recruiting trail and not love Georgia's chance with him even more.
