Georgia's NCAA Tournament did not go as planned. Even the biggest Georgia basketball fans probably didn't expect to make it out of the first weekend and into the Sweet 16, but everyone expected much more than a blowout loss to Saint Louis.

The good news is that this weekend wasn't a complete disaster. Georgia's biggest rival in Florida entered the tournament as a 1-seed and the reigning National Champions, but there were bounced in the second round on Sunday in dramatic fashion.

Georgia can find joy in Florida's heartbreaking defeat

Florida took on 9-seed Iowa Sunday night in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Gators were massive favorites to advance to the Sweet 16, but Iowa had other ideas. The Hawkeyes extended their lead to 12 points early in the second half and looked like they were going to run away with the game, but Florida stormed all the way back and took a late lead.

Florida even had a two point lead with under 10 seconds to play, but a horrific defensive sequence gave Iowa a wide open three that turned into the game-winner.

Georgia was embarrassed by Saint Louis in the first round. They had no chance of winning their game from the moment it began because of a complete lack of effort, focus and intensity. But everyone knew Georgia wasn't going to make a run, so even though it would've been nice to have a better showing it really wasn't the end of the world.

Florida however had a chance to repeat as National Champions, and that's the last thing any Georgia fan wanted to see. But to see them get bounced in the second round by a 9-seed was priceless and made what was a terrible weekend just a little bit better.

Texas, Arkansas, Alabama and Tennessee are the four remaining SEC teams in the tournament. It probably doesn't matter if any of these teams make a run from Georgia's perspective, and that is all thanks to Florida losing in embarrassing fashion.
