Tensions are high whenever Georgia and Florida play, but for one player in particular this game is especially important this year. Florida wide receiver Eric Singleton has made a stop at each of Georgia’s rivals throughout his career. That’s right, he spent two seasons at Georgia Tech and one year at Auburn before transferring to Florida this offseason.

He is 0-3 in his career against Georgia heading into Saturday, but you wouldn’t know that based on how he acted earlier this week during a press conference. In fact, he said something so outlandish that Florida had to edit it out of their official transcript.

Eric Singleton knows how to lose to Georgia

Singleton was talking about Georgia and having a relatively standard discussion about them heading into this game, but then the vibe shifted as he added "to hell with Georgia" at the end of one of his answers. If you go on Florida's main homepage to see the transcript of his interview you will see that this statement is nowhere to be found.

It makes sense though that Singleton would feel this way about Georgia. There are a lot of players that go 0-3 against Georgia throughout their careers, but he might be the only one to do that recently while playing for multiple UGA rivals. Now he's staring at potentially going winless against Georgia across his entire career while making a stop at all three of their rivals.

In his three games against Georgia he only has 12 receptions and one touchdown. Those aren't terrible numbers, but it's nothing to be that proud of. He however has a chance to finally get a win over Georgia this weekend, but history tells us that he'll fall short once again.

Georgia doesn't need any extra motivation vs Florida

Singleton might end up regretting ever saying this because Georgia didn't need more motivation heading into this game.

Georgia is always extremely motivated whenever they get to play one of their rivals. Those are always some of the most important games every season, and Kirby Smart has conditioned his program to take them as seriously as possible.

Georgia however has even more motivation to win this game because they already lost to Auburn this season. Beginning the season 0-2 against their rivals is one of the worst things that could happen to Georgia, and in this case losing to Florida would put their goals of making the SEC Championship game and College Football Playoff at risk. They can't let that happen.

Singleton's comments may not have an effect on the outcome of this game at the end of the day, but there's a chance that they could. Georgia could be upset because of what he said, and a pissed off Georgia is one of the last things Florida should want to see heading into this game.
