There are always a million storylines whenever Georgia football takes on Florida. But arguably the most interesting is Georgia running back Trevor Etienne taking on his former team.
Etienne has already commented on his excitement to face his former team, but Kirby Smart was quick to warn him to not get too caught up in all the noise.
Now it is time for Florida head coach Billy Napier to weigh in on what he thinks about facing his former running back.
"You move on to the next one," Napier said via si.com. "We've done what we need to do at running back...I couldn't be more proud of the guys we have there."
Billy Napier not interested in the Trevor Etienne discussion
Napier gave the most textbook response when asked about going up against his former running back. That was probably the smartest thing Napier could have said when asked this question because the last thing he wants to do is give Etienne more motivation going into this game.
Etienne had two solid seasons at Florida before transferring to Georgia this offseason. He eclipsed 700 rush yards during both of his seasons at Florida, while also tallying 14 touchdowns during his two season as well.
Based on these stats alone, one would have to assume that Napier wishes Etienne was still on his team. But thankfully for Georgia, that is not the case.
Etienne has been on fire this season, especially recently. He is coming off a monster three touchdown performance two weeks ago against Texas, and with two UGA running backs out once again, Etienne is going to have every chance to make his mark on this game.
A dominant performance from Etienne against his former team would be something that will be remembered for many, many years. So let's hope that is exactly what happens and Georgia is able to bring a big win back to Athens.
