In just a few days Georgia and Florida will meet in Atlanta in one of the best rivalries in the SEC. This rivalry has been completely lopsided in Georgia's favor recently, but this year feels a little different.

Sure Georgia is still expected to win, but Florida has a level of confidence in themselves that they haven't had in quite some time. That confidence is more than deserved, and while that means they have a better chance at beating Georgia a win for UGA will feel more special since Florida is good this season.

A good Florida team is more fun to beat

Florida hasn't been that much of a challenge to Georgia over the past few years. Sure they have kept it close a few times, but almost every year Georgia enters this game as a big favorite and they leave with a win. Georgia once again is entering this game as a 12.5 point favorite, but it wouldn't be surprising if Florida won this game this year.

Florida already has two big wins this season. They not only beat Ole Miss at home but they also took down Texas two weeks ago on the road. Florida however also has two bad losses to Missouri and South Carolina, but that doesn't take everything away from the good wins they have this year.

Florida has proven they are capable of beating Georgia. Sure UGA is still a solid favorite entering this game, but the fact that Florida has some confidence in their program for the first time in years would make beating them feel that much better.

The CFP has added more importance to this rivalry

The College Football Playoff has made this matchup against Florida far more exciting as well. Florida already has two losses this season and all it takes for them to miss the playoff is one more loss. That fact makes Florida as desperate as possible to beat Georgia to keep their dreams of making their first playoff appearance in program history alive.

Georgia also doesn't have a lot of breathing room when it comes to making the playoff either. They can afford another loss and still be a lock to make the playoff, but they likely wouldn't have any breathing room for another loss at that point.

Saturday's matchup is one of the most anticipated games this rivalry has seen in a few years. Sure that means Georgia will have a harder time winning, but a potential win will feel even better because Florida actually has a good team this season.
