Four-star offensive lineman Zykie Helton was one of Georgia’s top visitors on campus last weekend. Helton is a very intriguing prospect not only because he is a very solid player, but because he was once committed to Alabama.

Helton has since backed off that commitment, and Georgia is doing everything they can to complete the flip and add him to their recruiting class. And it appears they are on their way of doing just that because Rivals insider Adam Gorney shared Georgia is “surging ahead” of Alabama and Georgia Tech in this recruitment.

Now that Georgia fans know UGA is trending for Helton, the hope is that he will announce his final decision soon and make his commitment to Georgia official. Thankfully UGA fans might not have to wait much longer for that to occur because Helton shared that he’ll be announcing his commitment on June 11.

In the above social media post from Helton himself, he shared that he will be announcing his commitment on June 11. He also announced that he will be deciding between Georgia, Florida State, Alabama and Georgia Tech.

No official predictions have been made in this recruitment yet, but Georgia fans should be hopeful based on the fact that Gorney said Georgia is surging past these other schools in this recruitment. Obviously experts are wrong from time to time, but it does seem like Georgia will win this recruitment because of this news.

Georgia fans will likely find out in a few short hours where Helton is committing to, so hopefully he will give UGA a reason to celebrate on Wednesday. And what a commitment this would be to celebrate because of how talented Helton is and the schools Georgia would be beating in the process.
