The biggest loss Georgia has suffered on the recruiting trail in quite some time was when five-star quarterback Jared Curtis flipped to Vanderbilt. Georgia has lost top ranked quarterbacks in the past, but they never have to another SEC program.
Losing Curtis to an SEC program can be viewed as a good thing though because Georgia will get their chance at revenge on the field. And this opportunity is exactly what they need to help prevent Curtis's bold prediction from coming true.
Georgia will prevent Jared Curtis's prediction from ever coming true
Former Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia spoke with the media at the NFL Combine this week. During his press conference he shared a prediction Curtis made to him the last time they spoke.
“We were talking the other day, and he was like, ‘I’m going to win the national championship that you couldn’t win,’” Pavia said via dawgnation.com.
That obviously is an extremely bold prediction for any quarterback to make, let alone the quarterback at Vanderbilt. Sure the Commodores just had a good season last year, but they need to string together a few good years in a row if a national title will ever be in the picture.
But Curtis is one of the best quarterbacks in the country, so there isn't anything wrong with him being confident in himself. The only problem is that he will have to get through Georgia to accomplish this goal.
Vanderebilt plays at Georgia this year and will face UGA again in 2028 when Curtis is a junior. So for the three years he is in college he unfortunately will have to face Georgia twice.
Sure there is a chance he beats Georgia, but that seems unlikely. But even if he does beat Georgia it stills seems nearly impossible that he will bring a national title to Vanderbilt.
