Georgia football fans will remember the saga that was Dylan Raiola. The former five-star quarterback was once committed to Georgia, but right before Signing Day he shocked the college football world by flipping to Nebraska.

Raiola went on to start for the Cornhuskers for two years, but he never completely found his footing. Nebraska also struggled as a whole as they never competed for a Big Ten Championship either. His struggles led him to decide that it was time for him to find a new school this offseason, which is something he has done quite often throughout his high school and college career, and this time he has decided to move on to Oregon.

Raiola seemed like a big loss at the time when he ditched Georgia, but that ended up not being the case. Since he flipped his commitment Georgia has won two SEC Championships and made the College Football Playoff two times as well. Nebraska on the other hand have barely made a bowl game both years and never took advantage of the talent that he possesses.

So it is clear that Georgia dodged a bullet when it comes to Raiola.

It's also impossible to not mention that Raiola might be purposefully avoiding Georgia with this decision. There likely were a few SEC schools that would've loved to have him transfer to their program, but he ultimately decided to head to the Big Ten where he is safe from playing Georgia.

It will be interesting to see how Raiola does with Oregon who has proven they can succeed with a transfer QB, and with a better roster around him maybe he will find success. But Georgia continues to be in a good spot since he ditched them over two years ago, and many people in Athens are likely counting their blessings that he never came to Georgia in the first place.
