The biggest story last offseason was when a former Georgia Bulldog (Carson Beck) transferred to Miami. This decsion from Beck came out of nowhere, but fans later learned of all the controversy going on behind the scenes that led to his decision.
Fast forward to this offseason and another former Bulldog in Damon Wilson has decided to make the move to Miami, but this time there is even more controversy following him.

Wilson is the 8th overall player in the transfer portal.
He recorded 9.0 sacks this year.

Damon Wilson is the next Carson Beck
Wilson was a defensive lineman for Georgia for two seasons. After the 2024 season he decided to enter the Transfer Portal and move to Missouri. This decision was very disappointing, but at the time it seemed like a normal transfer decision.
That however didn't last long.
Georgia ended up suing Wilson a few months later over an unpaid NIL buyout, but he claimed he did nothing wrong. Wilson then decided to sue Georgia as well, and at this point it is up to the courts to decide if he owes Georgia money. But instead of staying out of the spotlight, Wilson did the exact opposite by entering the Transfer Portal once again. Then after just a few days word came out that he was asking teams for a ridiculously large NIL offer for him to transfer to their school.
Beck transferring to Miami ended up working out very well for him, but it's hard to imagine the same thing happening for Wilson. For starters, it is rare for a team to make it to the National Championship game two years in a row, so it's unlikely that Miami has as good of a season next year. But Wilson always seems to be caught up in drama, and his ongoing legal case with Georgia could impact him next season.
It will be interesting to see how next year plays out for Wilson, but it's clear that he is a bigger villain to Georgia than Beck ever was.
