Recruiting in college football is so fluid nowadays. It seems like every day now there is a new player who is leaving their current school and finding a new home for themselves. And Georgia football is not immune to that.

Kirby Smart and Georgia have had their fair share of flips so far this season, but they have also lost a good amount of commits as well. And one of those decommitted players just so happened to flip to one of Georgia’s biggest rivals.

4-star safety Tae Harris

Tae Harris is a four-star safety from Cedartown, GA. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Harris is the No. 48 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 3 player at his position and the No. 7 player from the state of Georgia.

It has been quite some time since Harris was a part of Georgia's class, but throughout a lot of 2023 he was committed to Georgia. However, in early January he backed off of his commitment and set his eyes on Clemson. Harris committed to the Tigers in March but did not stay true to that commitment either as he decommitted from Clemson and immediately joined Georgia Tech's class earlier this week.

Harris is the second recruit this cycle to flip from Georgia to the Yellow Jackets as three-star defensive lineman Stephon Shivers made the same move last week.

Sure Harris has not been involved with Georgia in quite some time, but it still isn't ideal to see a player as talented as he is go to Georgia Tech. To make matters even worse, he is an in-state recruit, and these are the guys you definitely want Georgia to win and not lose to anyone, especially Georgia Tech.

At the end of the day, this still isn't a huge deal for Georgia. The Bulldogs still have the No. 1 class in the country, so as long as that is the case then things like this won't really matter to UGA too much.
