Georgia football fans may be ready to move on from Carson Beck, but it will be impossible to do so after the long and successful career he had at UGA. It will be especially difficult to not think about Beck after all the drama that surrounded him after he was injured in the SEC Championship game and decided to transfer to Miami (FL).
Every Georgia fan has an opinion about Beck, and most of them aren't the kindest. Those negative feelings even extend to former players as legendary Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray recently expressed his displeasures with Beck.
"I think he's handled it pretty poorly to be honest," Murray shared via ugawire.usatoday.com. "I don't like all the distractions. I don't like what I've heard from the locker room. That at times he was not one of the guys in the locker room. That (Beck) was more concerned with making TikToks, being with his celebrity girlfriend."
Georgia dodged Carson Beck's drama
There is a sense of relief from Georgia fans after Beck decided to transfer to Miami. The biggest reason why is because many fans believe he is no longer good enough to lead Georgia to the top of the college football world.
Whether that is true or not is up for debate, but no one can deny that Beck is a very solid quarterback. But Murray's concerns with the way Beck has handled things the past six months should be the reason why Georgia fans are glad Beck is gone.
The last thing anyone at Georgia needs is a major distraction, and that is exactly what Beck has become since he was injured in the SEC Championship. There were even times during the 2024 regular season where he made some questionable off the field decisions as well.
Thankfully Beck's drama is no longer Georgia's problem to deal with, and UGA can now turned to Gunner Stockton who seems like the least likely person to ever get involved in any type of drama.
