Georgia fans may not remember the name Jaden Rashada too well, but he has made headlines across the college football world the last few days. Rashada was a backup quarterback at Georgia during the 2024 season, but his journey to get there was far from normal.
Part of his journey included opting out of his NIL contract with Florida and suing them for not following the terms of his contract. This was one of the first court cases involving NIL in college football, and that case has officially come to an end.
And it ended in a victory for Rashada over Florida.
Mississippi State QB Jaden Rashada has reached a settlement with former Florida head coach Billy Napier, booster Hugh Hathcock and former UF staffer Marcus Castro-Walker, per court documents.

At the heart of the suit was a $13.85M contract that played a role in Rashada flipping… https://t.co/6qL3q8O8Lt pic.twitter.com/6Y34Cccs2V
Jaden Rashada found a new way to beat Florida
Rashada was originally committed to Miami out of high school. Then he flipped to Florida thanks to a $13.85 million NIL deal. But after signing with the Gators he requested to be released from the program so he could instead head to Arizona State because he claimed Florida was not living up to their end of his NIL deal.
Since then Rashada has been battling Florida to earn the money he thought they owed him. And while this case never went to trial, the two parties came to an agreement to settle outside of court for an undisclosed amount of money.
Rashada only played at Georgia for one season where he sat behind Carson Beck and Gunner Stockton on the depth chart. After his one year in 2024 he hit the Transfer Portal and headed to Sacramento State. Now he has once agian entered the portal and will play for Mississippi State later this fall.
Sure he never took the field in a meaningful way for Georgia, but he was still a Bulldog. So while this case had nothing to do with Georgia, it is fun to see him be rewarded with something after Florida allegedly didn't follow through on his NIL deal.
