Georgia football has seen a decent amount of players enter the transfer portal so far this offseason, and one of those players is quarterback Jaden Rashada. This announcement from Rashada was shocking at first based simply on the fact that he is a QB and that will always make headlines, but after everyone had time to settle down it really was not all that surprising.
Rashada at best was the No. 3 option at QB heading into this offseason behind Gunner Stockton and Ryan Puglisi. And being that Puglisi still has four years of eligibility remaining, that means it would be really tough for him to ever become the starter in Athens. So based on that fact alone, it makes sense for Rashada to look for a new opportunity elsewhere.
However, instead of finding his new home immediately, Rashada decided to take a few months off and focus on his training before going through the recruitment process. Who knows if that was the right decision or not because there are now less openings available than when he first entered the portal.
Regardless, Rashada has now started his recruitment process and has scheduled his first official visit.

Rashada to visit Western Kentucky
According to On3's Pete Thamel, Rashada will be taking his first visit to Western Kentucky. This is somewhat of a surprising choice since most probably assumed he would want to stay at the power four level, but maybe making a move to a group of five school isn't a bad idea.
Rashada began his career at Arizona State where he did make two starts, but his tape from there and at Georgia is very limited. This might be causing the power programs to be hesitant to recruit him this time around. So Rashada could make the move to a school where he knows he will be named the starter for one season before entering the portal again next year to make the move back up to power four football.
This is all just speculation at this point, but this path for him may not be a bad option. Regardless, Georgia fans should hope that his career works out for him because there is no reason to wish anything negative on Rashada.
