Running back Nick Chubb has always been one of the most beloved Georgia football stars by the UGA fanbase. That love began during an impressive four year career in Athens that saw Chubb rush for over 1,000 yards three times while also scoring a whopping 14 touchdows as a freshman and 15 as a senior.

Chubb was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 2018 NFL Draft where he has spent his entire career. His career got off to a fast start as he rushed for over 1,000 yards in his first five seasons (only 996 yards as a rookie but that's close enough). But it was during the 2023 season where disaster struck.

Chubb suffered a horrible knee injury during week two of the NFL season that kept him sidelined for the remainder of the 2023 season. He also missed that entire offseason as well as the beginning of the 2024 season as well. But Chubb finally made his return in late October against the Cincinnati Bengals where he found the end zone once and ran for 22 yards.

Chubb didn't have the most impressive season the rest of the year, but that is to be expected after returning from the injury that he suffered. But now that the NFL is in full offseason mode, reports came out that Chubb is not expected to return to the Browns next season.

Nick Chubb will play for a new NFL team next year

It's unclear if this is the Browns wanting to move on from Chubb or if he wants to play for a new team, regardless Chubb will be wearing a new uniform in the NFL for the first time in his career.

It will be interesting to see who takes a chance on Chubb because it's likely some teams will be turned off from him after the injury he suffered in 2023. Chubb also is getting a little on the older side when it comes to running backs, so that could be another reason why teams are hesitant to sign him.

But one team will undoubtedly take a chance on Chubb, and they will not regret it. Every Georgia fan knows Chubb will be back and better than ever now that he has an entire offseason to work and get himself ready for the 2025 season, so whoever signs Chubb this offseason will be thanful that they did.
