Two and a half years ago, former Georgia offensive tackle Broderick Jones was selected 14th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Last year, he played nearly 1,100 snaps and was part of an offensive line that allowed just 10 sacks.

Now, Jones is continuing to prove that he is more than worthy of his first-round draft pick as he flies toward his third season in the league.

In Pittsburgh's most recent preseason matchup, Broderick showed impressive strides in his pass blocking and run blocking games, despite the Steelers' offensive struggles against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In the preseason game, the Steelers allowed just four sacks as the Pittsburgh quarterbacks (Mason Rudolph, Skyler Thompson, and Logan Woodside) struggled to find their footing... and their targets... on their own

Jones hasn't necessarily struggled in past seasons since entering the league, but he has been a far cry from the offensive menace that he was for the Georgia Bulldogs.

According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), Jones' pass blocking grade is well below average. However, the former Bulldog has earned his worth in the rushing game, ranking 59th out of 140 tackles in the league.

Last season, Jones played 1,059 snaps at right tackle and just seven snaps at left tackle. Really mixing up his position, Pittsburgh also slotted him in at tight end on five plays last year.

However, this season, Jones is expected to slide over to left tackle, his natural position and the role he played for the Bulldogs. As a likely starter for the Steelers, he will be tasked with protecting veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers' blindside throughout the year.
