Mississippi State has a very dangerous offense that Georgia should be a little nervous to play against on Saturday. So far this season Mississippi State is averaging 33.2 points per game, and knowing how much Georgia's defense has struggled at times that is a little concerning.
While there are a lot of players that could burn Georgia on Saturday, it just so happens that a former Bulldog could be the biggest problem for UGA's defense on Saturday.
Former Georgia WR Anthony Evans could be a problem for UGA vs Mississippi State
Anthony Evans is a wide receiver that Georgia fans should be familiar with because he spent the last two seasons in Athens. He did not find much success during his two years at Georgia, but after two years with the Bulldogs he decided to enter the Transfer Portal and make the move to Mississippi State.
That decision has worked out very well for him because he has been having a very strong season this year. Through nine games Evans has recorded 52 receptions for 663 yards and four touchdowns. Those totals are far more than he had in his two years at Georgia combined, so that might leave UGA wishing he had never left Athens in the first place.
Georgia's secondary has been a major problem this season as countless teams have lit them up. And Mississippi State knows how to score a lot of points, so Georgia should expect a shootout on Saturday.
But it just so happens that the one player Georgia should be the most concerned about is someone that was in their locker room last season. Maybe that will give UGA an edge since they went up against Evans in practice for the last two years, but Evans will be ready to make a statement and show Georgia why they should have given him more playing time while he was in Athens.
