The wild news cycle continues to roll on in a big way for Georgia football. After Carson Beck decided to transfer to Miami (FL), UGA suffered another big loss when running back Trevor Etienne announced that he would be declaring for the NFL Draft instead of returning for one final season at Georgia.

Losing Etienne is a big deal because he would have given Georgia one of the top running back duos in the country next season. And while this loss arguably is one of the greatest so far this offseason for Georgia, another wide receiver already in the portal announced where they are transferring which eliminates all hope of a return to Athens.

Anthony Evans is heading to the Bulldogs

Former Georgia wide receiver Anthony Evans announced on Wednesday that he is transferring to Mississippi State.

Evans just wrapped up his second season at Georgia where he once again struggled to make much of an impact on the field. He finished the season with just nine receptions for 88 yards.

Evans clearly did not have a very impactful career with the Bulldogs, but that had a chance to change next season with so much turnover occurring in the wide receiver room. But Evans is likely hoping to find much more playing time at Mississippi State, which was probably a good choice considering the talent UGA is bringing in at receiver from the transfer portal.

Georgia has added two starting receivers this offseason already in USC transfer Zachariah Branch and Texas A&M transfer Noah Thomas. So if Evans is looking for playing time, this decision to transfer was the right choice.

Georgia will face Evans and Mississippi State next season, and while UGA fans obviously want Georgia to win, it would be kind of cool to see Evans have a decent game.
