Georgia football has one more easy nonconference opponent to play before their SEC schedule begins. That game will take place this weekend when Austin Peay comes to Athens to take on the Bulldogs.

Georgia fans will likely want to look past this game because of how easy of a win it will be, and with a week three showdown at Tennessee looming it's hard to blame those who do look ahead beyond this game.

Tennessee is coming off a dominant week one win against Syracuse, but it didn't come without some bad injury news as starting corner Rickey Gibson went down with an injury that Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel said will keep him sidelined for an "extended period."

One injury will never hurt any program too much, but this is the second significant injury suffered in Tennessee's secondary as fellow starting corner Jermod McCoy is injured as well.

Tennessee will be without top 2 corners for upcoming Georgia game

The above report indicates that Tennessee will more than likely be without Gibson and McCoy when Georgia comes to town in two weeks for their early season clash. Gibson and McCoy are Tennessee's top two corners, so this is a significant development for Georgia as this game inches closer.

Tennessee has quickly become Georgia's most difficult test they will face this season after the developments that unfolded this past weekend. As mentioned, Tennessee destroyed Syracuse while SEC favorites Texas and Alabama both suffered embarrassing losses. So after just one week it appears Tennessee presents more of a challenge to Georgia this year than Alabama and Texas will.

Georgia is still going to have to play at a high level if they are going to leave Knoxville with a win, but this injury update will really benefit Georgia in this game. And with the way Gunner Stockton looked in Georgia's first game against Marshall, there is a good chance he will light up the Tennessee defense with their top two corners sidelined.
