Spring football is underway at Georgia and that means one thing, G-Day is right around the corner. After suspicion earlier this offseason that G-Day might not happen, the Bulldogs announced on Thursday that the annual event will occur once again this year.

G-Day is officially scheduled for April 18 at 1:00 pm EST in Sanford Stadium. Tickets are all general admission and are very reasonably priced at just $10.

This unfortunately is where the good news ends because it was also confirmed that G-Day will not be televised for the second year in a row.

G-Day announcement will leave Georgia fans sad and upset

G-Day is arguably the best day of the offseason. It is the only time that Georgia fans get to watch the team take the field and play between the end of last season and the beginning of next season. This event historically has always been televised which gives fans at home a chance to watch as well, but for the second year in a row G-Day will not be televised.

It is nice that the event will still happen and give some fans the chance to see Georgia take the field in person. But failing to televise the event is a huge mistake because of the countless fans at home that would love nothing more than to tune in and watch some spring football.

Last year Kirby Smart blamed issues with the TV network as the reason G-Day was not televised. That very well could be the case again this year, but fans will be left wondering why something as simple as G-Day can't make it to television.

Hopefully Smart and Georgia find a solution, because every year that passes without a televised G-Day is a failure. All Georgia fans want is to watch their team play or practice in any capacity, unfortunately that opportunity is being taken away from the fans.
