Georgia football is continuing to work hard to keep five-star quarterback Jared Curtis committed to their recruiting class. Over the past month he has been flirting with the idea of flipping to Vanderbilt, but so far he has remained committed to Georgia.

Later this week is the time for Curtis to announce his final decision as early signing period begins on Wednesday. Curtis originally planned to sign on Friday, but he announced on Monday that his final decision will come on Wednesday at 10 am EST instead.

5-star Jared Curtis announces one final change to his recruitment

Curtis orginally planned to sign on Friday because his high school team is playing for a State Championship on Thursday. He however decided that he would like to get this decision out of the way before that game, so he will announce his final decision on Wednesday morning instead.

Over the past week a few recruiting experts have predicted that Curtis will flip to Vanderbilt. But on Monday a Georgia insider said that he believes Curtis will stick with UGA instead. So at this point it is impossible to know what he is going to do, but Georgia fans thankfully don't have to wait much longer to find out.

It's unfortunate that Georgia is in this position with Curtis because they do not have a backup plan if Curtis flips to Vanderbilt. They likely will go out and find another QB to replace him in their 2026 recruiting class, but Georgia chose to stay loyal to Curtis like they thought he would be to them. That decision might end up costing Georgia, but no one can deny that it was the right thing to do.

So while Georgia is gearing up for their SEC Championship tilt against Alabama, Kirby Smart and his staff will spend a lot of time trying to keep Curtis in the fold. They may fall short, but Georgia is built for success with or without Curtis, so they will be fine regardless of his decision.
