Georgia football has made off very well on the recruiting trail since Penn State fired head football coach James Franklin. Penn State recruits at a very high level, so stealing as many of their commits as possible was a top priority after Franklin was let go, and the Bulldogs have done a great job at doing just that.

Kemon Spell however is the one former Penn State commit that has been at the top of Georgia's list, and it turns out the Bulldogs are in position to earn his commitment according to Rivals' Steve Wiltfong.

Georgia predicted to land nation's No. 1 RB

Spell is a five-star running back who is the No. 7 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class. He also is the top ranked player from Pennsylvania and the No. 1 running back in the country as well.

It's easy to see why earning Spell's commitment would be a big deal, but it didn't always look like Georgia was going to come out on top. Immediately after decommitting from Penn State Spell looked like he was leaning towards Notre Dame. In fact, multiple 247Sports insiders placed crystal ball predictions in the Irish's favor.

It's worth noting that those predictions are still logged on 247Sports, but the latest update from Rivals is in favor of Georgia. So not only does it look like the Bulldogs are going to take advantage of Penn State's misfourtunes, but they are going to steal the No. 1 running back from one of the top prgrams in the country.

There is no public timeline set for an announcement from Spell, and since he is a member of the 2027 recruiting class it may not occur anytime soon. But it looks like Georgia is his top school right now, and that is a great place to be.
