The end of the 2026 recruiting cycle has come and gone in the college football world. Since most recruits sign on early signing day in December the final signing day in February isn't as big of a deal as it used to be.
But Georgia found a way to add yet another five-star to their program while the rest of the country was distracted recruiting other players.

Georgia adds 5-star recruit at the final hour
Earlier this week Georgia received the best recruiting news of the year as five-star running back Kemon Spell announced his commitment to UGA. Spell is a member of the 2027 recruiting class and is the No. 1 running back in the country, so his commitment obviously is a huge deal for the program.
But he isn't the only five-star that Georgia added to their program this week as five-star long snapper Colton Dermer officially signed with UGA on Wednesday.
Special teams players like kickers and long snappers are rated on a different scale compared to everyone else. Dermer isn't a traditional five-star player like Spell or some of the other Bulldogs on Georgia's team, but he is a five-star according to the Kohl's Kicking rankings. These are the rankings that are widely accepted as the most meaningful for special teams players, so Dermer is one of the top long snappers in the country in his class.
Having an elite long snapper is very underrated. Everyone knows how important kicking is in college football, but a kicker can't do his job if the snap isn't perfect. So it is a huge deal that Georgia has one of the best long snappers in the country coming to Athens as this will help keep their special teams operating at a very high level for the foreseeable future.
