Georgia football has made a few changes to their staff over the last week. The first change came in the form of a new leader for player NIL negotiations when Tanner Potts was announced to that position. Then the Bulldogs promoted James Ellis from Assistant Director of Player Personnel to Director of Scouting soon after.
These however were not the only changes Georgia made this week as late Thursday afternoon the Bulldogs announced a new hire to their offensive coaching staff.
Quality Control Coach Ty Hatcher
According to Georgia Bulldogs on SI, Georgia has hired Ty Hatcher to be the Bulldogs offensive Quality Control coach. Hatcher won't be responsible for any one position group this upcoming season, rather he will help oversee the entire offense as a whole.
The name Hatcher may sound a little familiar as well as he is the son of former Samford head coach Chis Hatcher.
Hatcher is about as young of a hire as you will ever see Kirby Smart and Georgia make as he is only 25 years old. This young of a coach might be a little scary for some Georgia fans to see, but he has ample experience for someone who is so young. During Hatcher's short career, he has already held positions at three powerhouse programs including Alabama, Texas A&M and Oklahoma. This shows just how impressive of a coach he is because why else would so many of the top programs in the country want him on their sidelines?
The best part about this announcement is that Hatcher now has all offseason to get acclimated with how things operate under Smart at Georgia so he can make as much of an impact as possible in his first season with the Bulldogs. That first opportunity will take place on Aug. 30 when Marshall comes to Sanford Stadium to take on Georgia in the season opener.
