Georgia football has turned their attention on the 2027 recruiting class, and there are already some big fish they are going after. One of those big names Georgia fans need to learn is David Gabriel Georges.
Georges is a five-star running back in the 2027 class who just announced his top eight schools. Georgia was included in that list along with a lot of heavy hitters, but the Bulldogs now know that they sit in a very strong position with one of the nation's top running backs.

Georgia received great news from nation's No. 2 running back
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Georges is the No. 13 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 2 running back in the 2027 class as well as the top ranked player from his home state of Tennessee.
Also included in Georges top eight is Ohio State, Auburn, Miami, Tennessee, Texas, Alabama and Ole Miss along with Georgia.
There is no clear leader in this recruitment right now, but there are a few teams who are standing out. Ohio State and Tennessee are the two "warm" teams according to 247Sports. On3 however has the Buckeyes as the overwhelming favorite to win this recruitment right now.
So it's clear that Georgia has some work to do to catch up in this recruitment, but this isn't a must win for UGA. The Bulldogs are in a great spot with the No. 1 running back in the country in Kemon Spell. In fact, they may be the leader in his recruitment.
As long as Georgia wins one of these two recruitments then they will be in a very good spot going forward with their recruiting class. At this point there isn't any indication that either player is ready to commit, but Georgia is in position to win at least one of these recruitments which is a very good spot to be in.
