Georgia football is feeling as good about themselves as they have all season after beating Tennessee this past weekend 31-17. They also are making a lot of noise on the recruiting trail as they picked up a massive commitment in the 2026 class one day after beating the Vols as well.

Fast forward to today and Georgia is once again making noise on the recruiting trail as they’ve earned a commitment from one of the top players in the country.

4-star EDGE Chase Linton

Four-star EDGE Chase Linton has officially committed to Georgia. Linton is one of the top players in the country, coming in at No. 45 according to 247Sports. He is also the No. 4 EDGE in the country and the No. 7 player from the state of Georgia as well.

Kirby Smart and Georgia beat out Georgia Tech and Rutgers for this commitment. This is significant because Linton is from Atlanta, so it would not have been surprising to see him pick the Yellow Jackets.

Linton joins an already stacked 2025 recruiting class at Georgia. He is the 26th commit of the Bulldogs class, but is only the 10th highest ranked commit. So that right there tells you just how great this Georgia class is.

This commitment also propels Georgia up to the No. 1 ranking on the 247Sports team recruiting rankings. Georgia passes Ohio State who has been No. 1 for awhile, but the Bulldogs are looking to claim the top spot for the second year in a row.

Will Georgia be able to hold on to the No. 1 ranking for the rest of the cycle? That is going to be a difficult thing to do, but with all the big targets UGA is still after there is a great chance that they accomplish that for the second year in a row.
