The college football regular season just finished, and head coach openings are popping up all throughout the country already. And since Georgia football is one of the top programs in the country, many of Kirby Smart's assistant coaches will get looked at for these open positions.
Glenn Schumann has already been linked to one power four head coach opening, but he is not the only one who has been receiving interest from other schools. Tight end coach Todd Hartley has reportedly been receiving interest from Southern Miss and some other openings as well, which is a big concern for Georgia.
Losing Hartley would be a massive loss for Georgia because of how great the tight end room has been over the last few years. But it sounds like Georgia fans may not have to worry too much about losing Hartley based on this social media post on Saturday.
Todd Hartley may be staying at Georgia
Now this post does not definitively say one way or another that Hartley is staying at Georgia. There is a good chance he might just be posting this because Georgia is his home and the picture is objectively really cool.
But at the same time, it is a very interesting time to post this. Everyone knows these rumors about Hartley and other programs has been going on for a little bit now, so it seems unlikely this is just conicidental timing considering Hartley isn't too active on social media to begin with.
The sentiment that this could be Hartley telling Georgia fans that he isn't going anywhere is shared by many in Georgia's media circle, with Dawg Central's Graham Coffey sharing the following.
We'll have to wait and see until the offseason gets here to find out what Hartley's official decision will be. But for now, Georgia fans can hope that Hartley is telling us that he isn't going anywhere, which would be a huge cause for celebration.
