Georgia basketball is off to their best start in many years. The Bulldogs are 6-1 this season which includes a road win over Georgia Tech, a close loss to a top 15 Marquette team and a win over No. 22 St. John's.

Last season went well for UGA as Mike White led Georgia to the NIT Final Four. This season however is looking even more promising than that as the Bulldogs look like an NCAA tournament team.

There's still a lot of season left to play before those dreams become a reality, but all signs point towards that being the case this year. And that includes Georgia showing up in the latest edition of the AP Poll.

Georgia basketball receives votes in latest AP Poll

Georgia unfortunately did not receive enough votes to make the top 25, but they did receive some votes from few voters. UGA received 11 votes in this week's AP Poll, which is good enough to make them the No. 37 team in all of college basketball.

While that may not be the most exciting thing in the world, it shows the trajectory that Georgia is on this season. And looking at their schedule ahead, there's a good chance Georgia could crack the top 25 soon.

Five of Georgia's next six games are against group of five teams they will be heavy favorites against. And the sixth team is a 4-1 Notre Dame squad that Georgia gets to play in Athens. So there is a high chance that Georgia finishes this stretch 6-0, which would move their record to 10-1 this season.

A 10-1 record would easily be enough to crack the top 25, and depending on what happens with teams in front of them they could make it in sooner.

But for now, Georgia fans can enjoy the electric start to the season while hoping it continues so we can see the Bulldogs in March Madness later this season.
