Georgia basketball, just like the football program, are on a roll. The team is gearing up for their regular season to begin shortly, and are even coming off an impressive exhibition victory against Charlotte on Saturday. But while we wait for the regular season to officially begin, Mike White and his staff are quietly putting together one of the top recruiting classes in the country.

The Bulldogs already had two top 100 commits in their 2025 class, but on Tuesday White and his staff have added yet another commitment from 7-1 center Jackson McVey.

According to Joe Tipton of On3, McVey has officially committed to Georgia on Tuesday afternoon. McVey is a 7-1 center from Atlanta, GA who is a three-star prospect and the No. 245 overall player in the country, according to 247Sports composite rankngs. He also is the No. 45 center in his recruiting class as well as the No. 19 player from Georgia as well.

McVey joins the 2025 Georgia recruiting class that already had two major commits in it. He joins four-stars Jacob Wilkins and Kareem Stagg to make up the three man this class. Georgia's 2025 class, as it stands today, is now the No. 3 recruiting class in the SEC and the No. 7 in the entire country.

It is no secret how important size is in today's college basketball world, and that is exactly what White and his staff got here. At 7-1, McVey will be able to be a serious shot-blocking threat in the post which is critical for any defensive scheme.

McVey does have some work to do to improve his offensive game, so because of that I doubt he will see significant playing time once he arrives to Athens next year. But this commitment is massive for the program and once again shows the positive trajectory that White has the program heading in.
