Georgia basketball is off to a blistering start. The Bulldogs are now 9-1 after their most recent win against Grand Canyon on Saturday, which is their best start to a season since the 2001-02 season. So if you haven't gotten behind this basketball team yet, now is the time.
But even though Georgia is off to this great start, they still are not getting any respect from AP voters. The Bulldogs are receiving some votes to be included in the AP Poll, but they are still very far away from cracking the top 25.
However, none of that truly matters. The only thing that really matters is their play on the court, and Georgia has shown they are a force that can't be ignored this season.
Getting it done in multiple ways
Not only has Mike White and Georgia gotten off to this extremely fast start, but they have proven that they know how to win in more than one way.
One way Georgia has shown they can win is by scoring a lot of points if they need to. In their 10 games so far this season, they have scored at least 77 points five times. This includes a 102 point performance against Jacksonville and back-to-back 90 point performances against Texas Southern and North Florida.
On top of being able to score a lot, UGA has shown they can win a fist fight too. Their most recent 5-point win against Grand Canyon was an intense battle all night long, and they also have 3-point win against a ranked St. John's team from earlier this season when Georgia only scored 66 points.
The problem for Georgia however is that the SEC is loaded this season. Nearly every single team is having a great start to their season as well, so life is going to get very difficult for Georgia once SEC play begins. But they have three more tune up games before conference play begins with five straight ranked opponents, so they absolutely need to win all three games before that gauntlet begins.
