Georgia basketball is ready for their second SEC game of the season as they welcome the No. 6 Kentucky Wildcats to Athens for a mid-week game on Jan. 7.

Mike White and the Bulldogs just suffered their second defeat of the season in their SEC opener at Ole Miss this past weekend 63-51, but a win against Kentucky would erase any negative feelings still lingering about that game. But before the game gets here, let's take a quick look at the all time series history between Georgia and Kentucky.

Kentucky dominates Georgia in their history

Everyone who follows college basketball even just a little bit would assume that Kentucky dominates Georgia in their all time history. But not many would be able to guess just how much they dominate the Bulldogs.

Tuesday's game against Kentucky marks the 161st meeting between these two programs, and Kentucky currently holds a 132-28 advantage in the first 160 games.

The last meeting between these teams saw Georgia put up 96 points on the road against the Wildcats. That unfortunately still wasn't enough to beat Kentucky as the Wildcats won 105-96. However, the last time these teams played in Athens was on Feb. 11, 2023 which was a much better game for UGA as Georgia shocked the Wildcats by winning 75-68.

Will Georgia be able to repeat history and knock off Kentucky at home again? If they do it's unlikely that it will be by much more than the seven points they won by in 2023, but the margin of victory really doesn't matter. As long as UGA comes away with the win, then who cares how much it's by as that would take Georgia to 1-1 in SEC play and show the rest of the country that they are a legit threat to make the NCAA Tournament.
