Georgia has been hot, but clearly other teams are somehow doing better.

The Georgia Bulldogs now have three big official weekend visits in the books and have been on a tear on the recruiting trail as of late. Kirby Smart not only is getting 2026 commitments, but also landed a 2027 commitment just last week, showing the head coach's thoughts on the future. However, even with the hot streak, the Bulldogs are dropping in the latest recruiting rankings.

On3 has released its updated 2026 Industry Rankings for the Class of 2026 recruiting, and the Bulldogs, who were last ranked No. 2, have dropped three spots to No. 5, passed up by USC, LSU, Ohio State, and Notre Dame. The Bulldogs luckily did not drop as far as the previous No. 1 team, Texas, did, as the Longhorns dropped from No. 1 to No. 13 in the rankings.

Georgia has yet to have any commitments from their latest official visits this past weekend, but of course, there is always a bit of a delay, so prospects can make their decisions. So, that leaves Georgia with 12 commitments overall so far for the Class of 2026, and they are spending an average of 253k in NIL money.

Can Georgia move up the recruiting rankings again?

Even though in the past few weeks, Georgia has gotten some great news on he recruiting front, especially after their first recruiting visit in the month of June, the Bulldogs haven'y heard anything aft its second big weekend.

Normally, some prospects will choose to commit while on their visit or at least on he day after, but it has been radio silent so far for Georgia after this past weekend. While the Bulldogs are listed as top choices for a lot of players, this is what makes the month of June so stressful when it comes to recruiting, as these prospects are scheduling official visits with a lot of programs.

There is reason for concern, but if the Bulldogs start getting good news from prospects in the coming days, then the concern will be all for nothing. However, if it stays quiet over the next few days, there is reason for even more concern, and moving down the recruiting rankings will be the least of Smart's problems.
