One would typically think that Georgia football wouldn’t have much news to discuss on Easter Sunday, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, Sunday turned into one of the biggest days of the offseason so far for UGA.

So let’s jump right in as Georgia added three transfers from the portal on Sunday night.

Georgia adds 3 players from the portal

While Georgia had been very active in the transfer portal since it opened at Wednesday, they were yet to earn a commitment. That however changed in a big way Sunday night when UGA added three transfers.

These players are Illinois running back Josh McCray, Miami (FL) defensive lineman Joshua Horton and Army EDGE Elo Modozie.

Not only is it extremely exciting to land three players at once, but they all come at significant positions of need. So in one quick swoop, Georgia went from zero transfers this spring to earning commitments from three elite players.

UGA insider hints at more news coming soon

If three commits wasn’t good enough, it appears that Georgia could be on the verge of adding even more commits, according to Rivals’ Trent Smallwood.

Smallwood unfortunately didn’t share who could be Georgia’s next commit, so it could be another transfer or a recruit out of high school. But it sounds like more good news is coming, which adds to the excitement to start this week.

Georgia no longer the favorite to land coveted IOL

Two weeks ago, Georgia was named the leader for four-star offensive lineman PJ Dean. This was awesome to see as Dean is the No. 50 overall player in the country, according to On3.

But it unfortunately appears Georgia is no longer the team to beat as On3’s Steve Wiltfong changed his prediction from Georgia to Ohio State.

No timeline has been announced in Dean’s recruitment, so Georgia still has time to get back in front in this recruitment. But as it stands right now, this is not a recruitment trending Georgia’s direction.
