Georgia football is continuing to build some momentum on the recruiting trail, but a lot of news came out from outside of the program on Friday.
And to no one’s surprise, the biggest story in the SEC involved Lane Kiffin, who decided to take a shot at a former Georgia quarterback.
New 2026 prediction
While the college football world continues to focus on the transfer portal, the Bulldogs have been picking up steam on the recruiting trail with the 2026 high school class as well. This was most recently seen by UGA being predicted by 247Sports to land a coveted in-state offensive lineman.
That player is four-star Graham Houston, who has a current final four of Florida, Ole Miss and Florida State. While no commitment date has been scheduled yet, it could just be a matter of time until Georgia adds Houston to their 2026 recruiting class.
Lane Kiffin trolls Carson Beck
Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin might be the most unserious head coach in the SEC, and that was proven again on Friday when he took a shot at Carson Beck’s $4.3 million deal he received from Miami.
Kiffin said that Beck doesn’t deserve that money because of the struggles he had against the Rebels during the 2024 season. And considering Beck turned the ball over twice, didn’t throw a touchdown and threw for less than 200 yards in that game, Kiffin might be on to something.
Fran Brown pursuing Nitro Tuggle
One of the three Bulldogs who have entered the transfer portal so far is wide receiver Nitro Tuggle. While it’s tough to see Tuggle leave because of all the potential he possesses, he is currently suspended after a driving related incident earlier this spring. So his departure really isn’t that surprising.
Indiana is one of two teams who is reportedly after Tuggle, but the second team targeting him is far more interesting. That team is Syracuse, whose head coach is former UGA assistant Fran Brown.
Georgia fans would love to see Brown continue to succeed at Syracuse, so hopefully the addition of Tuggle works out if he chooses to go there.
