Former Georgia football quarterback Carson Beck just can't catch a break. Ever since Beck made the decision to transfer to Miami (FL) for one final season in college, things just haven't been going his way.
For starters, he was unable to practice all spring because of the injury he suffered during the SEC Championship game against Texas. On top of that, he has been in the news for off the field matters the last few months as well.
And while the argument could be made that the off the field drama is partially his fault, the latest statement made by Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin is about as random of a shot that could have possiby been taken.

Lane Kiffin questions Carson Beck's NIL deal
The old saying goes that the value of anything is what someone is willing to pay for it. In the case of Beck, Miami was willing to pay over $4 million for just one season of Beck in their program.
Many college football experts and fans don't understand how Beck's value is that high, but at this point it just is what it is. Other head coaches however have mostly refrained from commenting on Beck's NIL deal simply because they are focused on what is happening in their own program.
That is until Kiffin took a shot at Beck and Miami for how much money he is making.
Kiffin's rationale for why this deal makes no sense to him is because of Beck's struggles against his Rebels during the 2024 season. And based off that game alone, Kiffin might be on to something.
Georgia lost their game against Ole Miss last season 28-10, and Beck did not have a great showing. He completed 20 of 31 passes which isn't terrible, but he only threw for 186 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception. On top of that, Beck also fumbled the ball twice with one resulting in a turnover.
So based on this game alone, there is no way that Beck deserves over $4 million from Miami. Some would even argue his entire career doesn't even prove that he should be making this much money. But none of that matters, and Beck likely is sitting somewhere watching this video while he is staring at his ever-growing bank account.
